Staff Writers (English and Thai)

 

Sidekick (www.sidekick.asia) is a content-driven agency for social change based out of Bangkok, Thailand. We work with International non-profit organizations and UN agencies, as well as local Social Enterprises to produce innovative media research, engaging virtual events and impactful campaigns to tackle the most pressing issues within Southeast Asia.

 

We are looking for 2 Staff Writers (1 English writer/1 Thai writer) to produce social impact content for our new online storytelling platform. 

 

Responsibilities

• Writes stories/blogs for the new platform and for our existing social impact projects. 

• Pitch fresh and creative story ideas

• Contribute to Sidekick’s social media pages 

• Meets with and interviews clients/partners from the social impact sector (NGOs, CSOs, etc.)

• Keeps up to date with news on social movements from across the region 

 

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year working in print or digital media 

• Language fluency

  • For English writer: Fluent in written and spoken English

  • For Thai writer: Fluent in written and spoken Thai

• Able to think creatively and outside the box 

• Follow current events with knowledge and interest not just on social justice issues but also know your way around current trends and social media best practices.

• Though not essential, the ability to take high-quality photos and/or video is a plus
